Reformer Pilates In Naperville
Part of the Classical Pilates System
What is reformer pilates?
The Pilates Reformer is a versatile piece of equipment designed to build strength, improve control, and develop better body awareness through precise, intentional movement. Using a moving carriage, springs, footbar, straps, and shoulder blocks, the Reformer provides adjustable resistance while supporting a wide range of exercises.
At Karve Pilates, our Reformer Pilates classes in Naperville are rooted in the original Classical Pilates method. Rather than focusing solely on intensity, we emphasize technique, alignment, breath, control, and quality of movement. Each exercise has a purpose, helping you build a stronger foundation while progressing your practice over time.
Whether you are completely new to Pilates or have years of experience, the Reformer offers a challenging and adaptable way to strengthen your entire body.
Classical Pilates Is More Than the Reformer
The Reformer is an essential piece of Pilates apparatus, but it is only one part of a comprehensive movement system. Classical Pilates brings together specific exercises, apparatus, and principles that work together to develop strength, stability, mobility, and body awareness. Each element serves a purpose within the larger method, creating a balanced approach to movement rather than focusing on a single piece of equipment.
Karve’s classical reformer approach
At Karve, Reformer Pilates is more than a workout. Our approach is rooted in Classical Reformer Pilates, following the principles and intentional sequencing of the original Pilates method.
Our instructors emphasize precision, control, alignment, breath, and purposeful movement rather than simply moving through exercises as quickly as possible. The goal is to help you understand how and why you are moving, while building strength and body awareness that carries beyond the studio.
Our intimate small group Reformer classes allow instructors to provide individual guidance while maintaining the energy and community of a group setting. As you progress, our structured class levels give you the opportunity to build on your foundation and take on more challenging exercises with confidence.
Benefits of Reformer Pilates
Reformer Pilates provides a full-body workout that challenges your strength, stability, coordination, flexibility, and control. The adjustable resistance of the Reformer allows exercises to be modified and progressed as your practice develops.

Increase flexibility and mobility
Develop balance and coordination
Improve body awareness and movement control
Build strength with low-impact movement
